It’s hot out. And apparently this heat is making people do some crazy things.

Where is this? I must have that Bridgestone!
Seeing things like this makes me cry. Lock your shit up!
even better because they use one of the biggest heaviest u-locks available. nothing is locked up here!!
That’s pretty sad. You should consider submitting it to http://failblog.org/
And I thought locking just the front wheel was bad…
m2mayer — outside the star market on beacon street…i have to say i was super tempted to steal it…
brian — ridic, right?
geoff — ahahaha and it would have been so easy to just lock up the frame and the rear wheel!
teeheehee — fail, indeed.
This reminded me of the scene in The Big Lebowski where The Dude pounds like 20 nails through a board into his floor in order to brace a chair against his door which opens outwards. But, in this retard’s defense, you can’t call fail if his bike was still there when he got back.
a speculation: maybe they didn’t have a lock, saw someone’s u-lock locked to the fence and decided to “make an impression” as if their bike is locked. I mean, it’s not every passer-by that’s investigating the appropriateness of bike lockage, right? 🙂
so…should i report this bike as stolen now or later?
Bike-trap by the police? I’ve heard of sting operations setup like this to help catch potential bike thieves. Given the economic times, I’d be surprised if that person found there bike.
pedal power — nope, saw the guy lock to the fence! absurd, right?
ryan — really? ha! good thing i didn’t ride away with it!
